What is Medicare Part D? The Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 made significant changes to the way the government pays for healthcare for people who are 65 years old or older, as well as people with disabilities. Starting January 1, 2006, Medicare will offer prescription drug plans to help pay for prescription drug use. Medicare Prescription Drug coverage will offer people who are Medicare eligible the opportunity to save on their prescription drug costs.
The new coverage will be offered through private insurance plans, and beginning November 15, 2005 you can join a new Medicare prescription drug plan. You have important decisions ahead of you regarding your Medicare 2006 prescription drug coverage.
Medicare prescription drug coverage is available to everyone with Medicare, regardless of income, health status, or how you pay for prescription drugs today.
Everyone with Medicare needs to make a decision about prescription drug coverage. Even if you don't use a lot of prescription drugs now, you should still consider joining a plan.
Remember, to get the coverage, you must join a plan.
If you need help:
Attention:
